Who We Are
Sparkle With Sam operates the website sparklewithsam.shop (the “Site”). We sell handmade crystal décor, sun catchers, wind chimes, jewelry, and related gift-ready pieces online.
Sparkle With Sam is based in Los Gatos, California. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you visit the Site, contact us, or place an order.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated when you use the Site, and limited information we receive from service providers that help us operate the store.
- Name and email address when you submit the Contact form or communicate with us about an order or custom request.
- Message content, subject line, and inquiry type from the Contact form.
- Order-related information such as purchased products, quantities, order totals, order identifiers, payment status, and transaction references when you checkout through Square.
- Shipping and fulfillment information you provide during Square checkout, such as shipping address, contact email, and phone number when supplied.
- Customer-service correspondence you send to us by email or through the Contact form.
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site or use its features, certain technical information may be collected automatically by our hosting platform, serverless functions, or your browser.
- Internet protocol (IP) address, browser type, device characteristics, operating system, and language settings.
- Pages viewed, referring or exit URLs, request timestamps, and basic diagnostic or error information related to Site functions.
- Marketing attribution parameters such as UTM source, medium, campaign, content, or term when they appear in the page URL.
- Technical request information sent to third-party resources loaded by the Site, such as Google Fonts, Etsy-hosted images, or Square checkout pages.
We do not currently operate a first-party analytics dashboard on the public storefront. Aggregate traffic analytics are not connected in the admin dashboard at this time.
How We Use Information
We use information for legitimate business purposes related to operating the Site and fulfilling orders.
- Process and fulfill orders, calculate shipping, and provide order confirmation information.
- Respond to Contact form messages, product questions, custom-order inquiries, and order support requests.
- Operate, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the Site, checkout flow, webhooks, and internal admin tools.
- Send merchant order-notification emails when a paid order is completed, so we can prepare and ship purchases.
- Understand which marketing campaigns or referral sources may have led to a visit or checkout, using UTM attribution stored in your browser.
- Prepare approved organic social content and Pinterest publishing through our internal marketing tools.
- Maintain business, tax, fraud-prevention, and customer-service records as reasonably necessary.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
Payment Processing
Payments on sparklewithsam.shop are processed by Square, Inc. (“Square”). When you checkout, you may be redirected to Square-hosted checkout pages where you enter payment and shipping details.
Square processes payment-card information according to Square’s own terms and privacy policy. Sparkle With Sam does not intentionally collect or store full payment-card numbers on its own servers.
After checkout, we may receive order and payment information from Square that can include payment status, Square order ID, payment ID, transaction amount, purchased line items, customer name, email address, phone number, and shipping address details when provided through checkout.
Square is an independent payment processor and is not owned or controlled by Sparkle With Sam.
Orders, Shipping, and Customer Service
When you place an order, we use order and fulfillment information to prepare, pack, and ship your purchase and to communicate with you about your order when needed.
Merchant order notifications may include customer contact details and order summary information needed to fulfill the purchase. These notifications are sent to Sparkle With Sam’s business email address and are not published on the public Site.
If you need help with shipping, delivery, returns, or a custom order, you may contact us through the Contact page or using the public contact email listed on the Site.
Contact Form
The Contact form collects your name, email address, subject, inquiry type, and message. We use this information to respond to your request and maintain reasonable business records related to customer service.
Contact submissions are delivered through our server-side contact handler. When configured, messages are sent using an email delivery provider such as Resend. In local or unconfigured environments, the form may acknowledge receipt without sending email.
The Contact form includes a hidden honeypot field to help reduce automated spam submissions. If that field is filled, the submission is rejected.
We retain contact messages for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, follow up, and maintain ordinary business records. We do not automatically delete contact submissions after a fixed number of days.
Marketing Attribution and UTM Parameters
When you arrive at the Site with UTM parameters in the URL, we may record those values in browser storage to understand which campaign or referral source led to a visit.
If attribution data is present when you start checkout, a short attribution reference may be attached to the checkout request sent to our server. This reference is intended to help connect completed orders with marketing campaigns.
Attribution storage is intended for campaign measurement and operational reporting. It is not intended to store sensitive personal information such as payment-card data.
Pinterest Integration
Sparkle With Sam uses an internal admin marketing tool that can connect to Sparkle With Sam’s own Pinterest business account. This integration is used to manage approved organic Pinterest content for the business—not for collecting information from Site visitors.
When authorized, the integration may read Pinterest boards, create or schedule approved Pins, read permitted Pin or board information, store board IDs, publication status, queue records, campaign IDs, and related operational metadata, and add UTM parameters to approved destination URLs on sparklewithsam.shop.
Pinterest OAuth access tokens are stored server-side in encrypted form using a server-side encryption key. Tokens, app secrets, and admin credentials are not intentionally exposed to public Site visitors.
The integration may operate in testing, dry-run, or live publishing modes. Testing and dry-run operations do not create public Pins. Live actions occur only after the business account authorizes the integration and an administrator approves the content.
Pinterest’s processing of information connected to a Pinterest account is also governed by Pinterest’s privacy policy. You may disconnect the integration from Sparkle With Sam’s admin tools or through your Pinterest account settings.
Etsy Content and Reviews
Some product information and customer reviews displayed on the Site may be synchronized from Sparkle With Sam’s Etsy shop or served from static review data derived from public Etsy review content.
Review display data may include review text, star rating, reviewer display name such as “Etsy Customer,” review date, and related listing information. Email addresses and other private Etsy account details are not intentionally displayed in storefront reviews.
Product images may be loaded from Etsy-hosted image URLs or other remote image hosts associated with product listings.
If you follow a link to Etsy, your use of Etsy is subject to Etsy’s own terms and privacy policies. Etsy does not operate sparklewithsam.shop.
Google Merchant and Product Feeds
Sparkle With Sam may publish product feed files to support search and shopping discovery. These feeds contain product information such as title, description, price, availability, image URL, product page URL, shipping details, and product identifiers.
Merchant feed files are intended to describe products for discovery purposes. They do not include customer names, customer email addresses, order history, or other purchaser personal information.
Service Providers and Information Sharing
We share information with service providers only as needed to operate the Site, process payments, deliver email, host data, or perform related business functions. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
- Netlify — website hosting, serverless functions, platform logs, and Netlify Blobs storage used for some operational records.
- Square — payment processing, hosted checkout, order retrieval, and webhook notifications related to payments.
- Resend — email delivery for contact-form messages and merchant order notifications when configured.
- Etsy — product and review source data and image hosting for listings linked to the Etsy shop.
- Pinterest — business-account connection and organic content publishing for Sparkle With Sam’s own account when authorized.
- Google — Google Fonts loaded by the Site and product discovery surfaces that may consume public merchant feed data.
Sparkle With Sam does not currently sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under applicable California law. We may share information with service providers for the business purposes described above.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill orders, provide customer service, maintain business and tax records, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations.
Retention periods vary depending on the type of information. For example, completed order records may be retained longer than browser attribution data stored locally for up to 30 days, and contact messages may be retained while customer-service matters remain open and afterward as ordinary business records.
We do not promise automatic deletion of all personal information after a specific number of days unless a particular feature implements a defined retention period.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, including HTTPS for Site traffic, server-side storage of secrets and credentials, restricted admin access, encrypted storage of Pinterest OAuth tokens, payment processing through Square rather than direct card storage on our servers, and server-side verification of Square webhook signatures.
Access to admin tools requires authentication. We aim to collect only the information needed to operate the store and related business tools.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or information about how we use personal information we maintain about you.
